Dr.-Ing. Lena Schnabel

Wärme & Kältetechnik / Fraunhofer-Institut für Solare Energiesysteme ISE

Dr.-Ing. Lena Schnabel has joined the Fraunhofer ISE in Freiburg in 2001 and is leading the research group „Equipment and Component Development” in the Department “Heating and Cooling Technologies” since 2017. The addressed technologies are electrically and thermally driven heat pumps, solar thermal and PVT collectors, air-conditioning and ventilation and innovative heat exchangers.
Dr.-Ing. Schnabel holds a diploma degree in energy and process engineering and a PhD from the Technical University in Berlin in 2009.
Her research activities focus on heat and mass transfer processes in adsorption systems, evaporation of water at low pressures and new heat exchanger designs.
