Dr. Yunho Hwang is a research professor at the University of Maryland, US, and co-director of the Center for Environmental Energy Engineering. He is an expert for “Energy Efficiency and New Innovative Energy Systems Research”. Since 1997, he has successfully developed multiple innovative energy-efficient and sustainable refrigeration and air-conditioning technologies. He has initiated new innovative researches on elastocaloric cooling systems and electrochemical compression for natural refrigerants. He published 340 publications with an h-index of 39. He is an ASME Fellow and an ASHRAE Fellow, and also serves Energy, Elsevier as a subject Editor since 2015. He is serving IEA-HPT as an operating agent of ANNEX54, IIR as a President of Commission B1, and ASHRAE as a chair of the Refrigeration Technology committee.
