Dr. Michael Lauermann

Michael Lauermann, (M), has joined the AIT Center for Energy as Research Engineer in 2014. He is actively involved in European and national research projects in the area of domestic and industrial heat pumps. His key activities lie in the field of dynamic thermal simulations of heat pump systems to support industrial partners in the implementation of innovative solutions regarding energy efficiency. Michael holds a Master’s degree in mechanical engineering and a Doctoral degree in technical science, both from the Vienna University of Technology. During his PhD he worked on developing an innovative solar thermal concentrating system and was principally involved in the modelling of thermal, mechanical and optical systems. He is also teaching at the University of Applied Sciences Technikum Wien in the field of heat pump systems.
