Low GWP Refrigerant Solutions for Heat Pump Applications 
With the introduction of F-Gas Regulation and Kigali Agreement, the importance of low GWP (global warming potential) refrigerants has risen significantly. As the incumbent HFC refrigerants such as R410A (GWP=2088), R407C (GWP=1774) and R134a (GWP=1430) are under pressure due to the high GWP characteristic, the heat pump industry is in urgent need of replacement alternatives that will enable OEMs comply with F-Gas and upcoming EcoDesign requirements.
Due to the late transition in most of the industries, there is now an absolute need for HVAC installations to switch to low GWP refrigerants. Beside industrial/chemical gases like hydrocarbons or R-744, the HFO refrigerants are and will remain as the long-term, future-proof and safe refrigerant solutions.
At the center of the presentation are the HFO and HFO blends, which can meet the most important requirements of heat pump systems in the short and long term. The main objective of this presentation is to inform heat pump manufacturers, HVAC consultants and contractors about the latest developments in refrigerant technology that provides future-proof solutions to the industry.
Honeywell has developed long-term refrigerant solutions, which are available now, and widen the choice of possibilities for the HVAC industry. Honeywell will also present its “one refrigerant solution” per application roadmap using these long-term refrigerant solutions. The focus point will be on air source / ground source heat pump space heaters, heat pump water heaters and heat pump tumble dryers, where new refrigerant technologies can optimize the overall performance of the equipment and ensure compliance with the existing legislation.
