My presentation will introduce an effort by IEA-HPC Annex 54: Heat Pump Systems with Low GWP Refrigerants. This annex is aiming at promoting low GWP refrigerant application to accelerate phase down of high-GWP HFCs
The potential of water as a refrigerant for Heat Pumps - past, present and future approaches [7]
Author(s):
Dr.-Ing. Juergen Suess - Efficient Energy GmbH // Florian Hanslik - Efficient Energy GmbH
Location: Hall Brüssel, NCC Mitte
The paper starts with an overview where water (R718) was used as a refrigerant. A low capacity heat pump system and its performance is introduced. Finally, an outlook is given, where water as a refrigerant of heat pumps can expect a promising future.
Augmented Reality for Heat Pump Acoustics [8]
Main speaker:
Christian Köfinger - AIT Austrian Institute of Technology
Location: Hall Brüssel, NCC Mitte
AIT developed a mobile app with which the sound propagation of heat pumps can be visualized. The device is positioned with the help of Augmented Reality and the propagation is displayed in color. Results from accredited measurements are used as the basis for the acoustic propagation calculation.
Different channels for different refrigerants [9]
Main speaker:
Matteo Munari - Alfa Laval
Location: Hall Brüssel, NCC Mitte
The future scenario of HP will be based on many refrigerants which belong to A2L if not A3 category. As consequence and in addition to the well-known efficiency challenges we have now to deal with a new design criterion: don' t exceed the maximum refrigerant charge!
CO2 as refrigerant: cycles analysis for HVAC applications [10]
Main speaker:
Biagio Lamanna - Carel Industries Spa
Location: Hall Brüssel, NCC Mitte
In this work the evolution of CO2 cycles will be presented to show which possibilities this technology provides to the HVAC applications. Cycles will include single stage, cascade, dual stage and high efficiency solutions such as mechanical subcooling, parallel compression and ejectors
Experimental Research on Micro Channel Heat Exchanger Application for Wall-mounted Heat Pump Water Heater [11]
Main speaker:
Paolo Dalle Pezze - Sanhua International Europe, S.L.
Author(s):
Haifeng Zhang - Sanhua International Europe, S.L.
Location: Hall Brüssel, NCC Mitte
Four different kinds of heat exchangers are tested with a wall-mounted heat pump water heater which volume is 80L, to verify performance and energy efficiency. The test result shows, for condenser, it could get better heating efficiency and temperature rising speed by 16mm width MCHE.
News and trends from the world of fans [12]
Main speaker:
Marcel Rössler - ebm-papst GmbH & Co.KG
