Milestone: Chillventa crosses the 1,000-exhibitor mark!
This year’s Chillventa is the largest ever. With further increases in both exhibition space (+2%) and exhibitor numbers (+4%), it provides the industry an even better forum to put on the best possible show. From 16 to 18 October 2018, Chillventa is making the exhibition venue in Nuremberg THE gathering place for the international refrigeration, AC, ventilation and heat pump community. Discussion between global experts began on 15 October, the day before the actual exhibition, at the Chillventa CONGRESS. The compact one-day congress programme gave experts from around the world the chance to learn about the latest trends and developments in depth.
“Chillventa has grown impressively and fast,” says Daniela Heinkel, Exhibition Director Chillventa, NürnbergMesse. “With six events in ten years, it has achieved a milestone this year, and has broken the 1,000-exhibitor barrier for the first time in its history. For the first time, 1,019 exhibiting companies from 45 countries are represented at the Nuremberg exhibition venue, covering all aspects of refrigeration, AC, ventilation and heat pump technology. This is a pleasing development, since it once again clearly shows the value of Chillventa for the international community. There has also been a two-percent increase in exhibition space. That’s a very good result, building on an already strong starting position. And a clear sign that Chillventa has established itself as THE international focal point for the refrigeration industry.”
Larger international contingent, too
“The international origin of the exhibitors and visitors at Chillventa reflects its global reach,” observes Richard Krowoza, Member of the Management Board, NürnbergMesse. “About two-thirds of the exhibitors and 60 percent of the expected 32,000 trade visitors have come from outside Germany. This emphasises just how important Chillventa is for the industry in the German-speaking world and beyond.”
The international role of Chillventa is also reflected in the international pavilions, which are hosting presentations from a total of six countries. In addition to South Korea, Thailand, the Czech Republic, Turkey and the USA, China is represented at as many as three of the pavilions.
Exhibition and conference both focus on IoT
With its extensive range of products and services, Chillventa once again provides an overview of the industry, with components, systems and applications for refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation and heat pumps. The exhibition and congress this year focus on subjects such as the Internet of Things, IT security for refrigeration plants, implementing the 42nd Ordinance under the Federal Immission Protection Law (BImSchV), current climate goals, eco design, recovery and reclamation of refrigerants, the F-Gas Regulation, efficiency through controls, innovation in heat transfer, air conditioning of data centres, heat recovery, and system solutions for cold water.
The Chillventa CONGRESS gave experts a dedicated insight into the latest industry topics of interest the day before the actual exhibition. Prominent international speakers shared international knowledge from R&D and actual practice, and looked at the latest underlying political conditions in Europe and around the world.

Trade forums offer knowledge direct from the source
In the three forums – hall 9 (applications, training and codes of practice), 7A (refrigeration technology) and 4A (AC, ventilation and heat pumps) – renowned presenters are holding more than 150 talks on cutting-edge topics.
Special presentations offer a wealth of practical specialist knowledge
The special presentations have become a fixture at Chillventa, and prove a winner every time with the top-level specialist knowledge they offer. This year, trade visitors can look forward to two key topics in the special exhibition areas: “Hygiene in air-cooled heat exchangers” and “Heat pumps: a key technology for a successful energy transition”.
Chillventa AWARD for outstanding projects
The Chillventa AWARD had its exciting launch in 2016, and will be presented for the second time in 2018. The Chillventa AWARD recognises the achievements of teams of experts (designers/planners, system engineers, clients/operators) that have worked together in exemplary fashion, above and beyond the technical standards, to realise a project that is highly impressive with regard to functionality, energy consumption and technical innovations. Refrigeration and AC network with new exhibition in India
With the key Chillventa trade fair and the European Heat Pump Summit in Nuremberg, ACREX India and the European Pavilion powered by Chillventa at China Refrigeration, NürnbergMesse has built up an impressive portfolio of refrigeration, air-conditioning, ventilation and heat pump events in recent years. This year sees a new member join the Chillventa network: REFCOLD INDIA, which will premiere at the Mahatma Mandir Convention cum Exhibition Centre in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India, from 22 to 24 November 2018. REFCOLD INDIA will reflect all the segments of the cold chain industry, and bring together interested parties and players from throughout the sector. The first event of REFCOLD INDIA, the exhibition for the cold chain industry, will be jointly organised by the Indian Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ISHRAE) and NürnbergMesse India. “Experts worldwide can look forward to the international refrigeration, air-conditioning, ventilation and heat pump network that we are continuing to expand wherever it is practical to do so.
