Heat pump systems are a key technology in improving energy efficiency and minimizing environmental impact across various applications. This study investigates the integral role of experiments within the development process of heat pumps, highlighting their influence from the choice of refrigerants to the evaluation of heat pump controllers.
To explore the potential of various refrigerants, we conduct experiments using a test bench equipped with multiple cycle configurations, such as internal heat exchangers or vapor injection systems. Decisions regarding these configurations and the best refrigerant are made based on safety levels and the expected operational range.
